Every Dark Corner is the nail-biting new thriller from Sunday Times bestseller Karen Rose, and Book 3 in the Cincinnati series, following on from Closer Than You Think and Alone in the Dark.
When FBI Special Agent Griffin "Decker" Davenport wakes from his coma, he is desperate to find the missing children he knows are in danger. At the end of his last investigation, when he thought it was all over and justice had been served, he discovered that not everyone had been rescued, but he was shot before he was able to tell anyone.
Special Agent Kate Coppola has recently moved to Cincinnati. She says she's chasing a promotion but she's actually running away from heartache. She's found the recordings from Decker's time undercover and has been at his side in the hospital while she tries to put together the pieces of the crime he was investigating—and what connection it has to his own mysterious past.
When someone tries to kill Decker in his hospital bed, he and Kate realise that the children are not the only ones whose lives are threatened, and that they must stop at nothing to hunt down the perpetrators. And danger is waiting in every dark corner.
Decker is slowly recovering from wounds suffered when his cover was blown in an underground sting. Agent Kate Coppola has been sitting by his bedside, keeping him company as he heals. When a murder attempt puts Decker in danger, he’s moved and put under witness protection in an undisclosed location. Decker, Kate and several other agencies and witnesses are working the case to find missing children. Pertinent information about the case is leaked and the team doesn’t know who to trust. As the investigation continues, the deeper they go, more depraved and heinous crimes are revealed. The culprit(s) may be hiding in plain sight. Is anyone safe?
WOW! This is the most intense story yet from Ms. Rose. I was biting my nails the whole time! The suspense is thrilling and the romance between Decker and Kate is a blazing inferno that only burns brighter as the story goes on.
Can we talk about the villain(s)? They are the most devious and depraved and just made my skin crawl! I don’t know how Ms. Rose does it, but she is meticulous in her development of the bad guys.
EVERY DARK CORNER is masterfully written and brilliantly plotted. I’d recommend any book authored by Karen Rose.
I want to thank the publisher for generously offering me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own.
